The NPD-Peacemaker is a Jaeger NPD variant utilized by the UN peacekeeping force. Naturally, they are modeled after a UN peacekeeper, as evidenced by their distinctive sky-blue helmets. This has resulted in many UN aid workers and volunteer PPDC pilots referring to them as "blue bucketheads."

History[]

Somalia Revolt[]

On Septamber 19, 2014, a squad of 4 Peacemakers providing security for a PPDC convoy was ambushed by a group of local insurgents. Ten minutes into the engagement, two Peacemakers lay in smoldering ruins after being hit by prototype incendiary rounds fired from a Karl Gustaf M3. The weapon in question had been stolen weeks earlier from a Swedish army outpost near Mogadishu.

As the other two Peacemakers struggled to locate their elusive assailants, a hoard of locals wielding AK47 rifles and RPG-7's began flocking in their direction. Before long, both remaining Peacemakers were leveled with a barrage of HEAT rounds to their ankle joints. With the jaegers annihilated, every UN aid worker attached to the convoy was massacred.

This event shook UN and PPDC officials to the core. Less than a week later, an extensive crackdown on Somali terrorist cells was initiated. On November 21, the perpetrators of the Septamber 19th incident were slaughtered during a raid by the Swedish SOG. Their leader was shot dead by Delta Force commandos on Christmas day. Among these Delta operators was Michael "Hex" Hunter, who would later participate in Operation Neptune Fury as part of Kilo Company.

Features[]

True to its role as a peacekeeping jaeger, the NPD-Peacemaker's combat capabilities are quite limited. Low generator output translates to inferior strength and inability to support energy-based weaponry. Furthermore, the Peacemaker's brittle Titanium armor is purely a weight-saving measure, only offering protection against high-caliber bullets and RPG-7's. Armament is also predictably benign, consisting of one 120mm rifle and six 50mm machine guns. However, these were more than suitable in countering soft-skinned armored vehicles prevalent in low-threat environments in which Peacemakers primarily operated.
