Operator Abyss is the codename for the first model of the specialized Mark IV Jaegers built for Operation Raptor. After the events of Operation Aequor, the PPDC commissioned the construction of a Mech that was specially designed for clearing caves and underwater combat.
Equipment and tactical advantages[]
Operator Abyss is armed with a multitude of tactical gadgets, including: - a "Stroboscopic Flasher", basically a shoulder-mounted spotlight that flashes brightly in patterns that are designed to irritate Kaiju - a "Cluster Charge", basically a device that drills through solid rock (e.g. a sealed cave entrance) and launches 14 HE charges into the space behind the wall, heavily wounding anything hiding behind it and the "Hydraulic Ram" extendable arm attachment, able to shatter both rock and concrete.
Additionally, all Operator Jaegers are equipped with a dual Tactical Anti-Kaiju Knife (modeled after the MTech USA Xtreme knife) in each clenched fist, making it four blades in total, arranged like Striker Eureka's Sting Blades. Additionally, the TAKK can be turned electric if a blade battery has been inserted into the Jaeger's energy circuit. Equipment that is shared between all Operator Jaegers contains a variety of underwater boost turbines, an unique blueish black paintjob and a specific identification number painted on chest and back.
Later Tactical Role specifications[]
All "Operator" type Jaegers apart from Operator Abyss (who's just been the first prototype) fulfill different tactical roles, from long-range snipers, damage-absorbing tanks to breachers equipped with a multitude of explosives.
Marksman Abyss[]
- lighter exoskeleton, right arm can transform into an high-powered 80mm rifle capable of piercing Kaiju Armor without any problems. Specializes in taking out Kaiju from great distances.
Dozer Abyss[]
- Heavily armoured tank, extendable shield on left wrist. Triple Corrosive Scattergun in right wrist, modified for quick reloads. Specializes in absorbing all damage for the teams to allow continuous fire support.
Breacher Abyss[]
- Medium Armor, multiple cluster charges, Sticky AK Grenade Launcher is effective against Kaiju and can be used to break surfaces and cave walls. Specializes in breaking all kinds of stuff - from materials to Kaiju Skulls.
Brawler Abyss[]
- Massively armored close combat fighter, equipped with T74 Tesla Mace + Shield. Specializes in dismantling Kaiju up close.
