The ZGMF-X12R or Storm Bringer is a Mark V Jaeger.

History[]

The PPDC created a new series of advanced prototype Jaegers known as the Second Stage Series to succeed their previous generation of Jaegers, which were all mostly inefficient. One of these new units was the Storm Bringer, a transformable unit specializing in variable combat. The unit was not present during the Shao Drone Attack as its development has fallen behind the rest. After the fall of of the Mega-Kaiju during the MegaTokyo incident, it was assigned by reinstated Chairman Tendo Choi to Latoria Maruchie and Ashleigh Jameson who were appointed by Tendo to the elite ROGUE detachment. The Jaeger was moved to the Panama Shatterdome and, after a small skirmish with Drone forces, joined the crew of the battleship John Paul Jones. Although Latoria and Ashleigh was able to disable the MH-2 Corroder in the Gulnahan Ravine near Suez they accomplished little in combat. They managed to emerge victorious in most engagements with the drones by providing a difficult to hit target, but took very little offensive action against the Drones themselves. The Jaeger is later damaged beyond repair by a RH-1 Kronos in a naval battle off the coast of Santa Monica.

Features[]

The ZGMF-X12R Storm Bringer is one of PPDC's five Second Stage Series Mark V Jaegers, it specializes in variable combat and can shift it's plating into a highly aerodynamic speed mode that has much better combat capabilities.

They built approximately twenty specialized models during mid 2034. The Second Stage development program, in addition to the experimental Storm Bringer series, managed to generate a significant stockpile of Jaeger parts. The PPDC, not wanting to have such parts go to waste, used these stockpiles to create a line of pre-production Jaegers used to field test tactics. In order to cut down on costs, most of the armaments and parts of the Storm Bringer were also used for Gipsy Avenger.

Though in many ways similar to its Dominance Detector predecessor, the Storm Bringer was a bit different in other ways, particularly in its armament. It had new plasma sabers were stored on the back. The Conn-Pod visor was decreased in size, as it now carried a periscope for underwater warfare. Although sporting a smaller generator than most Mark V's, the Storm Bringer still had the generator power to use a Plasma Rifle.
